There
are lots of exciting events going on at the moment
with the launch of many courses.
General
Practitioner Certificates in Small Animal Medicine
and Small Animal Surgery
The
General Practitioner Certificates in Small Animal
Medicine and Small Animal Surgery two-year modular
programmes are now taking bookings. These flagship
courses have changed the lives (in a good way!) of
many previous delegates and you can read more about
this in the brochure (downloadable from the homepage)
or on the mini-site devoted to the programmes at www.samandsas.com
Irish
delegates looking for Veterinary CVE courses in
Dublin can join in with either Medicine or Surgery
this year, and the courses have been given 20 CVE
points per year by the Irish Veterinary
Council– all your CVE points in one
course!
Nurse
Certificate courses
Our
Nurse Certificate courses in five key areas are going
to start again in November this year. First launched
last year, these programmes have gone down a storm
with the Veterinary Nursing community and have
received some amazing feedback. The eight-module
courses are offered as four two-day back
–to-back sessions and can be completed in
between one and three years after which delegates are
able to sit the ESVPS exam in their chosen subject
and achieve a postgraduate qualification!
We
are delighted to announce that these veterinary
nurses modular courses are now accredited by BVNA as
well as the exam providers ESVPS, so you can be sure
these flexible, achievable qualification courses are
of the highest academic standard.
Since
moving to our new European headquarters in 2009, our
bespoke practical suite has seen many happy
veterinary surgeons pass through its doors. With
specialist air filtration systems making it a
pleasant environment to experience cutting edge
techniques with state-of-the-art equipment, hundreds
have people have been able to polish up their
techniques, or learn brand new skills that can be
taken straight back to practice. In most cases these
courses can pay for themselves within weeks!

Practical
courses
Our
new series of practical courses is now bookable. Just
search for ‘practical’ using the search
facility to see what’s on offer. Places are
strictly limited to 12 per course to ensure the
maximum learning experience for each delegate, so we
strongly recommend saving a place on a course if you
think you would like to attend but aren’t quite
ready to register. These are held open with no
obligation for up to four weeks giving you time top
arrange your schedule, payment, and life in
general!
Exclusively
Equine
Our Autumn Series of Exclusively Equine courses is
also now bookable, and you can download a brochure by
clicking here. Put
together by Graham Munroe BVSc PhD CertEO DESM Dip
ECVS
FRCVS, these courses offer updates, case-based
discussion, practical sessions and opportunities to
discuss issues with the speaker faculty at each
course. You can view the range of courses and book
online by searching for ‘equine’ in the
search facility.
Disciplines
and Species-based General Practitioner
Certificate
These courses start again in November and are
bookable online. These are a great first step to
specialisation, or just a good in-depth structured
course if you want to be able to see more cases in a
particular area. The courses consist of 12 modules,
and some are highly practical (such as Endoscopy and
Endosurgery and Diagnostic Imaging), some have a
two-day practical course at the end, and some are
more case-based in their approach. All are designed
to give delegates an in-depth understanding of their
chosen subject by the end of the course. Search
for ‘modular courses’ in the search
facility to see what’s on offer.
British
Veterinary Association Young Vet
Network
We’re
delighted to announce that of the 1st
January 2009, we have formed an association with BVA
to offer a 30% discount across all one-day UK CPD
courses to graduate members up to eight years
qualified, under the Young Vet Network
initiative.
These
one-day 'update' courses have been designed to
provide a rapid review of the important issues in
veterinary medicine, surgery and business. All
courses will include case-based elements so that
delegates can assess their understanding of the key
areas.
To
qualify for this 30% discount, members must complete
the course registration form in the brochure and
supply a valid BVA membership which will be checked
on registration. If you don’t have a current
brochure and would like one, please contact us and we
will put one in the post to you.
