Course content

There are dentals that everyone fears - the complex extractions of the large canines or the big multi-rooted teeth. These provide intense anxiety for the new graduate to the experienced vet. With poor technique they can result in massive trauma to the patient, leading to pain and a dissatisfied client.

Extractions can take far longer than anyone wants - leading to stressed vets and an inability to charge properly for the time. Good technique and surgical options can reduce the stress to a minimum. Feline dental extractions pose their own problems - we'll present some solutions. FORL's, gingivo-stomatitis will also be discussed. Dental Radiography units are becoming more common in practice - ALL small animal practices should be considering purchase.

Dentistry standards are improving, client expectations are increasing even more rapidly. Radiography allows you to do the job properly - and helps protect you from complaints and litigation.

The course will consist of a mix of short review lectures, followed by 'hands-on' practical sessions. The interactive nature of the sessions, together with one-to-one tuition, help to ensure that delegates get the most out of the course. The speaker aims to convey his enthusiasm for the subject to the delegates.
