• Understand the design and use of ophthalmic instruments
• Appreciate the use of magnification for ocular surgery – the use of magnifying loupes and operating microscopes
• Understand pre and post operative care and anaesthetic regimes
• Understand common surgical techniques for eyelid, nictitans, conjunctival, corneal and orbital surgical procedures
• Consider the principles of intra-ocular surgery such as phacoemulsification for cataract removal |
