Course summary

 

 

This course is aimed at practitioners considering buying an ultrasound machine as it offers these unique benefits:

 

  • All delegates will be provided with a BCF ultrasound machine for the duration of this four-module course.  This will allow delegates to practice scanning techniques in their own practice.  
  • Delegates who choose to purchase the machine at the end of the course will receive a discount off the machine price equal to the cost of the course.
Key Learning Objectives:

Module One An Introduction to Small Animal Ultrasonography

To include: General principles of ultrasound, familiarisation with BCF machines, general examination techniques and image recording, common artefacts, ultrasonography of the liver, biliary tract and spleen and projects for 'in-practice' scanning.

 

Module Two Ultrasonography of the General Abdomen

To include: Ultrasonography of the gastrointestinal tract, ultrasonography of the urinary tract, ultrasonography of the reproductive tract and projects for 'in-practice' scanning.

 

Module Three Ultrasonography of the General Thorax

To include: Two dimensional echocardiography, M-mode echocardiography, echocardiographic measurements, echocardiographic diagnosis of congenital disease, echocardiographic diagnosis of acquired disease, ultrasonography of the mediastinum and lung and projects for 'in-practice' scanning.

 

Module Four Special Techniques and Course Overview

To include: ultrasonography of the eye, ultrasonography of glands and lymph nodes, ultrasonography of muscles and tendons, ultrasound guided invasive techniques, introducing ultrasonography into practice, advice on further learning and questions and answers.

Course Fees:

£1350.00 plus VAT (£1586.26 in total)

 

To include all lectures/practicals, course notes, refreshments and buffet meals. Details of local accommodation, if required, can be obtained from the Improve office.

 

Delegates will receive a loan ultrasound machine from BCF for the three-month duration of the course. Delegates who purchase the machine will receive a discount from BCF off the advertised cost of the machine. Delegates who do not purchase the machine will be charged a fee by BCF for the loan of the equipment over the period. Delegates should ensure that the equipment is covered by insurance for the loan period. All these figures are exclusive of VAT.
