Sara graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1993 and spent three years in general practice before completing a Small Animal Residency at Cambridge University, followed by a clinical oncology post. Sara has been in private referral practice for the last three years. Her interests include endocrinology, oncology and haematology.

This course will provide an accessible overview of generating and interpreting cytology, haematology and biochemistry results in practice.
Basic concepts in quality assurance and quality control will be covered briefly, to ensure the practice machines are well tended, and patient and sample sources of variation explored. There will be tips for avoiding common mistakes and maximizing the chances of obtaining 'good' results. Interpretation of panels, including case based exercises, will lend confidence in extracting as much information as possible from routine samples, and guidance on further testing will be given.
This course is primarily aimed at the vet (or nurse) who wants to get the most from the practice laboratory.
