Course content

Driving our cars is arguably the most dangerous activity that we perform on a daily basis and unfortunately, every day on Britain's increasingly busy roads, an average of 10 people lose their lives.

The main objective of this one-day course is to help develop better driving techniques and reduce the risk of being involved in a road traffic incident.

On-road instruction will be carried out using highly experienced tutors and delegates will be taught the 'Roadcraft' method of car control as used by the emergency services. Delegates will also experience a demonstration drive and will receive a written report on their driving style. Off-road on a specially prepared skid pan, delegates will be taught how to control both front and rear wheel skids and will experience the use of anti-lock braking.

Key Learning Objectives:

By the end of this course, delegates should have a thorough understanding of:

• The risks involved in driving and how to reduce them

• How attitudes affect driving performance

• How to apply a system of car control that will give more time to react

• How to control a front and rear wheel skid

• How to safely use anti-lock braking
