Sharon Redrobe is the Head of Veterinary Services at Bristol Zoo Gardens and Head of the Rabbit Clinic at the University of Bristol. She holds the RCVS Diploma and Specialist Status in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine. Her caseload is 100% 'exotic' and includes various species of exotic mammal, bird, reptile, amphibian, fish and invertebrate.

Who should attend;

This course is ideal for those already seeing patients commonly classed as 'exotic' but wanting to go beyond a simple blood sample and radiograph. Or even for those doing so yet finding the answers frustratingly out of reach. With a mere nod towards state of the art, limited access, modalities, this course will focus on practical clinical management in practice.

What the course will help the attendees to do; 

• Examine and draw up a list of differential diagnoses for a sick reptile, bird, 'exotic' mammal or fish, in various scenarios
• Select and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests in exotic species
• Evaluation of the radiograph in many captive exotic species
• Manage many common, and uncommon, diseases in selected species
• Formulate a management plan for a sick exotic patient
• Anaesthetise the common species safely
