This course has been designed for those veterinarians with limited experience of diagnostic ultrasound.

The course will help delegates to achieve a medium level of proficiency in the practical scanning of normal abdominal organs and of the heart.

Common pathological processes will be considered in relation to their effect on the normal ultrasonographic appearance.

Day 1

• Physics of ultrasound and familiarisation with machines
• Ultrasonography of the liver, biliary tract and spleen
• Ultrasonography of the urinary tract
• Practical scanning of abdominal organs

Day 2

• Ultrasonography of the gastrointestinal tract
• Ultrasonography of the reproductive tract
• Ultrasound-guided invasive procedures
• Practical scanning
