Chronic diarrhoea in the dog
Principal Tutor: Ed Hall MA VetMB PhD DipECVIM-CA MRCVS
Ed Hall is Professor of Small Animal Internal Medicine at the University of Bristol, where he runs a referral gastroenterology service. He is co-editor of the BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Gastroenterology, and has written the small intestinal diseases chapter for three editions of Ettinger and Feldman.
Course content

The course will cover current diagnostic tests for chronic diarrhoea and discuss the role of bacteria and the mucosal immune system in the pathogenesis of antibiotic-responsive diarrhoea, food allergy and inflammatory bowel disease. This is a necessary prelude to devising rational treatment strategies for these conditions.
