The course will cover current diagnostic tests for chronic diarrhoea and discuss the role of bacteria and the mucosal immune system in the pathogenesis of antibiotic-responsive diarrhoea, food allergy and inflammatory bowel disease. This is a necessary prelude to devising rational treatment strategies for these conditions.
