Course content:

 

 

This course has been designed for those delegates with an intermediate level of competence in veterinary abdominal ultrasound. The main aims will be to review normal anatomy and to practise standard abdominal ultrasonographic imaging techniques. Lecture material will cover pathological processes in some detail and how these influence the ultrasonographic appearance of various abdominal organs.
Key Learning Objectives:

Day 1

  • Machine set-up and image recording
  • Ultrasonography of the liver and biliary tract
  • Ultrasonography of the spleen
  • Ultrasonography of the gastrointestinal tract
  • Ultrasonography of the pancreas
  • Ultrasonography of the adrenal glands and lymph nodes
  • Practical scanning

Day 2

  • Ultrasonography of the kidney
  • Ultrasonography of the ureters and bladder
  • Ultrasonography of the prostate
  • Ultrasonography of the female reproductive tract
  • Ultrasound-guided invasive procedures
  • Practical scanning
