Feline cardiology - Two-day in-depth course

Kerry studied the myocardial dynamics in various forms of feline cardiomyopathies for her PhD. At that time she took up a clinical role with the cardiopulmonary service at Edinburgh University and gained both her Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology and PhD in 2004. Since then she has became the Feline Advisory Bureau lecturer and Head of Feline Medicine at Edinburgh University. In 2006 she was awarded membership to the Australian College of Veterinary Surgeons, Feline Chapter.

This two-day course will provide a practical and casedriven approach to feline cardiology, focusing on the differentiation of respiratory and cardiac disease, the diagnosis of various forms of cardiac disease, treatment options for the various forms of cardiac disease and treatment of cats with aortic thromboembolism will be covered.

Who should attend

This course is aimed at veterinarians interested in cardiology, but it is not necessary that delegates have an advanced knowledge of the subject. The basics including interpretation of ECGs and echocardiography will be covered along with an introduction to some more advanced techniques such as Doppler assessment of myocardial function.

• Differentiate different cardiac diseases

• Treat cardiac disease in the cat
