Module One An Introduction to Small Animal Ultrasonography
To include: General principles of ultrasound, familiarisation with BCF machines, general examination techniques and image recording, common artefacts, ultrasonography of the liver, biliary tract and spleen and projects for 'in-practice' scanning.
Module Two Ultrasonography of the General Abdomen
To include: Ultrasonography of the gastrointestinal tract, ultrasonography of the urinary tract, ultrasonography of the reproductive tract and projects for 'in-practice' scanning.
Module Three Ultrasonography of the General Thorax
To include: Two dimensional echocardiography, M-mode echocardiography, echocardiographic measurements, echocardiographic diagnosis of congenital disease, echocardiographic diagnosis of acquired disease, ultrasonography of the mediastinum and lung and projects for 'in-practice' scanning.
Module Four Special Techniques and Course Overview
To include: ultrasonography of the eye, ultrasonography of glands and lymph nodes, ultrasonography of muscles and tendons, ultrasound guided invasive techniques, introducing ultrasonography into practice, advice on further learning and questions and answers.
