Rigid endoscopy – laparoscopy
At the end of this module delegates should be able to:
• Discuss the indications for laparoscopy
• Understand the possible complications of laparoscopy
• Understand patient preparation and general endoscopic technique for laparoscopy
• Understand normal endoscopic appearance of the abdominal cavity and its organs
• Understand organ biopsy techniques
• Practice techniques in a wet-lab environment
Day Two
Rigid endoscopy – ovariectomy and ovariohysterectomy
At the end of this module delegates should be able to:
• Review the instrumentation necessary for sterilisation surgeries
• Understand the techniques and possible complications of laparoscopic sterilisation procedures
• Understand the use of electrosurgery devices for cauterisation and cutting
• Discuss the economics of incorporating laparoscopic speys into private practice
• Practice the above techniques in a wet-lab environment |
