Animal Behaviour - Aggression in companion animals I and II

Samantha Lindley graduated from Bristol University Veterinary School in 1988 and after five years in practice developed an interest in behaviour therapy, pain management, acupuncture and the welfare of captive wild animals. She has been treating referral behaviour cases for 12 years and lectures to vets, students and nurses on this and related subjects

 

Aggression in companion animals I and II

 

This course is taken from the eight one-day courses that put together form the programme Nurse Certificate in Animal behaviour. Now accredited by the European School of Veterinary Postgraduate Studies, the programme leads to the qualification Nurses Certificate in Animal Behaviour  - NCert(AnBeh)

Key Learning Objectives:

 

Day One

Aggression in companion animals I

 

  • Understand the causes and principles of dealing with aggression in dogs and cats in all contexts.
  • Be aware of safety aspects in aggression problems
  • Be aware of general and specific approaches to aggression to owners, intraspecific aggression, barrier behaviours, aggression to children, predatory behaviour
  • To engage in the practical examination of actual behaviour cases/discussion of cases and prepare plans for the patients.

Day Two

Aggression in companion animals II

 

  • Understand the causes and principles of dealing with aggression in dogs and cats in all contexts

Registration and coffee 9.15am. Course starts 9.30am and finishes at 5.00pm

Course Fees:

£435.10 plus VAT (£511.24 in total)

 

Fees include notes online before and after the event (where available), refreshments and a buffet meal, and hard copies of notes on the day.

 

Accommodation is not included, but is available at the venue (Alexandra House) where we have managed to secure a certain number of rooms at negotiated rates.
