Course Content
This course is a comprehensive, practical look at clinical pathology and diagnostic techniques in horses. Topics will include the different sampling techniques for haematology and biochemistry profiles plus bone marrow/lymph node evaluation and other biopsy techniques. Which diagnostic test to use for the commonly seen equine medical conditions will be discussed and how to interpret the results using case-based scenarios. Delegates will learn how to avoid common errors and develop different diagnostic approaches for the equine patient.
Key Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, delegates should be able to:
• Discuss the different sampling techniques (including biopsies and cytology), identify the appropriate diagnostic tests for different conditions, and be able to recognise and avoid common errors in technique
• Discuss the applications for and interpretation of cytology in practice
