Course Content
As the title suggests, this course will take the general practitioner through the basics of fish identification, anatomy and husbandry through clinical examination, the common diseases and treatments of fish. Anaesthesia and surgery will also be discussed. Delegates are encouraged to bring their own case material and interaction during the sessions is welcome but not compulsory.

By the end of this course, delegates should be able to:
• Understand the role of the environment and biological filters in recycling systems and how to test water quality parameters
• Know how to perform a clinical examination and take the necessary samples used in routine health investigations
• Know which drugs are used and be familiar with the various stages of anaesthesia In fish
• Understand the various common methods of treatment and disease prevention |
