Course Content
The second lameness course is focused on describing the identification and treatment of the common conditions of the foot, back and hock which make up the majority of lameness problems seen in general equine practice. The lectures will be complimented by large numbers of diagnostic and surgical images and the delegates will be encouraged to discuss their own experiences of these problems.
Key Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, delegates should be able to:
• Discuss the common lameness problems of the horse including acute and chronic foot pain, back pain and hock lameness
• Discuss the various options for treatment of joint disease
• Understand the basic fractures seen in the horse and their management and prognosis
