Course Content
Each component of the neurological examination will be illustrated with video and discussed in terms of anatomy and function. Video and case studies will be used to demonstrate how to localise the lesion in the nervous system and diagnose and treat selected disorders of the brain (e.g. meningioma, infectious meningoencephalitis), spinal cord (e.g. lymphoma, intervertebral disc disease) and lower motor neuron (e.g. polyneuritis, myasthenia gravis).
Key Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, delegates should be able to:
• Understand the tests used in the neurological examination and be able to interpret the results
• Interpret the clinical signs of neurological dysfunction
• Be able to localise a lesion in the nervous system of the cat
• Be familiar with the types of disease that occur in the different areas of the nervous system and how to manage those cases (diagnostic evaluation and aspects of treatment) |
