Radiography is still the most important and commonly used diagnostic imaging modality in the horse. Unfortunately despite advances in the technology of the process the results in practice do not always come up to expectations. Many of the problems seen in general practice radiographs are due to poor technique or a lack of understanding of how to deal with commonly encountered difficulties.
The course is designed to help veterinarians take better diagnostic radiographs and also to develop a more logical approach to interpretation of the results. There will be a mix of highly illustrated practical lectures, film readings, video based discussions of special techniques, illustrated case discussions of the use of radiography, and viewing of delegate radiographs with advice from a panel on how these can be improved. The combined talents and practical experiences of a group of practice and university-based equine clinicians, along with a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, will stimulate delegates to assimilate knowledge on, and to discuss, how to take and interpret better radiographs
• Practical radiation safety measures
• Dealing with common radiography problems in the horse
• Radiography and radiology of the foot
• Radiography and radiology of the hock
• Radiography and radiology of the head
