Seminars: Do you know how to use your equipment ? Discussion of the correct use of your diagnostic kit for ophthalmic examination. Concentrating on what you’ve already got in General Practice. An overview of more complex but equally useful techniques which are available.
Practical sessions: The basic eye examination. Direct and indirect ophthalmoscopy. Neuro-ophthalmic tests. Ultrasound, Slit-lamp biomicroscopy and Tonometry.
Friday afternoon

Seminars: Ocular therapeutics – the principles of eye medication. Practical advice on using the right drugs for treating ophthalmic disease.
Practical sessions: Case studies – what drugs to use when.
Saturday morning

Seminars: Diseases of the eyelids and third eyelid.
Practical sessions: Surgical techniques used to correct entropion, ectropion, macrobleparon and to remove eyelid masses. Techniques for third eyelid surgery.
Saturday afternoon

Seminars: Diseases of the cornea with an emphasis on ulceration.
Practical sessions: Surgical techniques for use on the cornea e.g. keratotomy, keratectomy, corneal suturing and conjunctival grafts.
