The field of exotic animal medicine has come a long way in the last twenty years and we can do a lot more than clip rabbit's teeth, dispense an oral antibiotic, sigh there is not much we can do or euthanase the mystery cases. This will be a whistle-stop tour of how to approach, diagnose and manage the most common diseases in exotic pets including pet parrots, tortoises, maybe a lizard and snake, and rabbits and rodents. This will be a practical course focusing on diagnostic techniques and treatments readily available in general practice. Esoteric or referral level conditions will not be discussed to enable us to concentrate on the things most likely to present to a general practitioner. This course will give you the tools to approach the exotic patient with authority and diagnose and manage the common conditions appropriately and with modern techniques and treatment protocols.
