Endocrine disease of the adrenal gland

Anna graduated from Cambridge University in 2000 and completed an Internship followed by a Residency in Small Animal Medicine at Glasgow University. Since then she has worked as a small animal medicine clinician at Murdoch University in Western Australia, Cambridge University and is currently working at Bristol University. She holds the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Diploma in Small Animal Medicine.
Course content:

The course will cover the logical approach to the diagnosis and treatment of adrenal endocrine disorders of cats and dogs. Time will be taken to cover interpretation of diagnostic tests for these endocrine disorders and rational decision making based on test results. Management of emergency endocrine situations will also be covered. In particular hyperadrenocorticism, hypoadrenocorticism, phaeochromocytomas and hyperaldosteronism will be included.

This course is suited to the general practitioner who wishes to improve their understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of patients with adrenal disease and those with a particular interest in small animal medicine or enrolled for certificates.

  • Historical, clinical and laboratory findings which are suggestive of adrenal disease

  • Appropriate treatment of the various adrenal disease
