Alasdair completed a Residency in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery at the University of Bristol in 1994. He returned to Bristol as a Lecturer in 1997 and is now Senior Clinical Fellow in Small Animal Surgery. He completed RCVS Certificates in Small Animal Cardiology (1992), Veterinary Radiology (1994) and Small Animal Surgery (2000). He has interests in all areas of soft tissue surgery but has a particular teaching interest in abdominal surgery including laparoscopy.
Don Sheahan BVSc BSc CertSAS MRCVS (Speaking in Leeds and Cambridge)
Don graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1992 with a BSc in Biology and attained his BVSc from the University of Liverpool in 1995. Following graduation he worked for the PDSA in Liverpool for six months. After a further three years in first opinion small animal practice he moved to the Animal Medical Centre Referral Services in Manchester, where he obtained his Certificate in Small Animal Surgery. In 2005 he took up his current post as Lecturer in Small Animal Soft Tissue Surgery at the University of Glasgow and is enrolled on the European Diploma in Surgery.
Who should attend;
Gastric surgery is often required in dogs and the course will be of use to all small animal practitioners. There will be sufficient depth to interest those with a particular interest in small animal surgery but it will also include the practical techniques required for the practitioner with a more general interest.
