John Robinson BDS (Lond.), Dentist to the Veterinary Profession

 

John qualified as a dentist in 1984 and worked in general dental practice for 6 years. He has worked in veterinary dentistry full time since 1992 and was a BVDA course organiser from 1995 until 2004. His work is increasingly focused on advancing dentistry in general veterinary practice.

Course content
What you need for everyday dentistry for cats and dogs. There will be a focus on dental assessment and tooth extraction. Diagnosis by examination and radiography. Different techniques for extraction, including surgical extraction. How to recover when an extraction does not go as planned e.g. retrieving fractured roots. Guidance and help for others in your practice to ensure dentistry is done well.

All general practice veterinary surgeons - not only those interested and keen to do better dentistry but also those who have an overseeing role or supervisory input. Even those who have been doing dentistry for a long time will get much new information and a different perspective to other dental courses.

  • The choice and application of different techniques for extraction
