Kate White is an anaesthesia consultant working in the UK and Europe in private referral practices, pharmaceutical companies, and university departments. She also spends time in first opinion practices updating and training vets and nurses in anaesthesia and critical care. She is particularly keen to help improve the standards of anaesthesia and analgesia in the UK.

Course summary:

 

Veterinary anaesthesia and analgesia have advanced significantly during recent years. This course will review the latest advances and will help increase confidence in this vital area of veterinary nursing.

 

Day One

Anaesthetic considerations for specific conditions

 

At the end of the module the delegates should:

  • Know about muscle relaxants- indications, current use, new drugs, monitoring
  • Understand how to plan an anaesthetic for thoracic surgery
  • Understand how to plan an anaesthetic for head and neck surgery
  • Understand how to plan an anaesthetic for patients with cardiopulmonary disease
  • Understand how to plan an anaesthetic for patients with neurological disease

Day Two

Anaesthetic considerations for specific conditions

 

At the end of the module the delegates should:

  • Be able to plan an anaesthetic for Caesarean section
  • Be able to plan an anaesthetic for paediatric patients

Registration and coffee 9.15am. Course starts at 9.30am and finishes at 5.00pm

Course Fees:

£435.10 plus VAT (£511.24 in total)

 

Fees include notes online before and after the event (where available), refreshments and a buffet meal, and hard copies of notes on the day.

 

Accommodation is not included, but is available at the venue (Alexandra House) where we have managed to secure a certain number of rooms at negotiated rates.
